Classes & Jobs

In FINAL FANTASY X|V, characters can take on a number of different professions, or classes. Changing classes is as simple as switching the weapon or tool equipped in the character's main hand. Some classes have associated jobs as well, which confer additional skills and abilities. Players can switch to these jobs once they have met certain prerequisites.

Crafting

Once you pass your level 10 story quest, you can gain different jobs and classes. Crafting classes are no exception. Basically, just like choosing any class for the first time, any Disciple of Hand class you pick up starts at level 1, and you begin the cycle of leveling up yet again. Luckily, crafting is fun (for us at least) and we found out some great tips to make leveling as quick and easy as possible.

Gathering

Gathering is the primary activity related to the Disciplines of the Land. Each discipline has two resource types they can explore, requiring the use of a main hand tool for one type and an off-hand, secondary tool for the other. To add a gathering class to your your list of classes, you must first pass level 10 in your story quest.

Maps

Eorzea is the main continent within the world of Hydaelyn and is where the players will begin the game. It contains the three starter cities of Limsa Lominsa, Ul'dah and Gridania. There is also Ishgard, which is the fourth major city. Smaller towns of Ala Mhigo and Sharlavan can be found on the east and west sides of the continent.

Quests

FFX|V: ARR features a robust questing system which includes simple fetch quests, Grand Company quests, class quests, job quests and main scenario quests. All of which serve a different purpose. They do all have one thing in common however - they all reward good EXP for the level they are designed for. You will do many of these quests on route to the level cap.

Leves

Guildleves are Final Fantasy X|V's daily quest system.

Lore

The races within Final Fantasy X|V: A Realm Reborn are the same ones that are in Final Fantasy XI, but with different names. This was done so that the players would have a familiar feel to the game. However this does not rule out additional races that were not in Final Fantasy XI. It is very likely that FFX|V: A Realm Reborn will have new races, or at least new tribes or models to choose from. Male Miqo'te and female Roegaadyn have already been added.
