From the blacksmiths of Vylbrand to the carpenters of the Twelveswood, there are countless dedicated craftsmen ever plying their trade. Their traditions are preserved by guilds spread throughout Eorzea—the doors of which are always open to any enterprising adventurer.

All Disciples of the Hand receive a crafting log, which contains the recipes of every item they can synthesize. If you possess all the materials necessary for a listed recipe, you need only select the Synthesis button to begin the crafting process.

The higher the quality achieved during synthesis, the greater the chance that the finished item will be of a higher grade, possessing better stats than normal-quality items. Moreover, most weapons, tools and armor can be enhanced significantly with the addition of materia.

To perform their trade, Disciples of the Land must first locate gathering points. Botanists search for mature trees, miners for mineral deposits, and fishers for bodies of water.

Depending on the region, a gathering point can yield up a wide variety of items. See what the land has to offer as you travel across Eorzea.

Botanists and miners rely upon their gathering logs to locate and record information about the resources they seek, while fishers rely on their own unique log.

With an ample supply of materials at their disposal, some of these adventurers choose to pursue artistic endeavors as well. However, these vital resources can also fetch a high price in Eorzea’s markets, and many Disciples of the Hand are more than happy to take advantage.
